The Relativistic Bound State Problem in QCD: Transverse Lattice Methods
The formalism for describing hadrons using a light-cone Hamiltonian of SU(N) gauge theory on a coarse transverse lattice is reviewed. Physical gauge degrees of freedom are represented by disordered flux fields on the links of the lattice. A renormalised light-cone Hamiltonian is obtained by making a colour-dielectric expansion for the link-field interactions. Parameters in the Hamiltonian are r...
متن کاملSoffer Bound and Transverse Spin Densities from Lattice Qcd
Generalized transversity distributions encode essential information on the internal structure of hadrons related to transversely polarized quarks. Lattice QCD allows us to compute the lowest moments of these tensor generalized parton distributions. In this talk, we discuss a first lattice study of the Soffer bound and show preliminary results for transverse spin densities of quarks in the nucleon.
متن کاملQcd on a Transverse Lattice
The transverse lattice 1 is an attempt to combine advantages of the light-front (LF) and lattice formulations of QCD. In this approach to QCD the time and one space direction (say x) are kept continuous, while the two ‘transverse’ directions x⊥ ≡ (x , x) are discretized. Keeping the time and x directions continuous has the advantage of preserving manifest boost invariance for boosts in the x di...
متن کاملTransverse Lattice QCD in 2+1 Dimensions
Based on an idea due to Bardeen and Pearson, we formulate the light-front Hamiltonian problem for SU(N) Yang-Mills theory in (2+1)-dimensions using two continuous space-time dimensions and the remaining space dimension discretised on a lattice. We employ analytic and numerical methods to investigate the continuum limit and the glueball spectrum for N = ∞. In this limit, EguchiKawai reduction to...
متن کاملThe Relativistic and Non Relativistic Quark-antiquark Bound State Problem in a Wilson Loop Context
The paper is on the line of the path integral technique developped in preceding articles. Taking advantage of a semirelativistic and a full relativistic representation of the quark propagator in an external field we present an unified derivation of the semirelativistic potential and of a Bethe–Salpeter like equation for the quark– antiquark system. We consider three different models for the eva...
